Collard's Diner & Coffee in Herzberg (Elster)

If you love American food, you've come to the right place at Collard's. There are among others delicious sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, milkshakes, ingenious burgers and as a highlight, if you order in advance, buttery spare ribs. The owner even makes the sauces, rolls and ice cream himself. My insider tip is the unbeatable barbecue sauce. After eating you are full all day.

Owner is a "special" guy. Food is okay. Prices (for Herzberg!) A little too high .... Update on the owner's comment on the other rating platform (tripad.): I do not assume under any circumstances to give an opinion on price calculations related to your "handmade quality"; However, in my opinion, it does make a difference whether I eat the food in Munich or in Herzberg (shop rent, costs for employees, etc.). Update on the update: As a result, no guest should allow themselves to judge (assuming a little logical thinking) about the prices of any locality, as very few probably know the specific company figures! Even a € 80 burger can be justified somehow; but in the end it is MY opinion or feeling that I find your prices SOMETHING too high for what is offered here in Herzberg (I emphasize :).

Burgers, service and atmosphere are outstanding. All ingredients are homemade (even the bread and sauces). The taste is unique and has been consistently perfect for years. Not many can do that! Olaf - the owner - lives and loves his diner, that makes it authentic. Keep up the good work, Olaf!

That was a pleasant surprise in transit. I would not have expected such a stylish restaurant in Brandenburg in the countryside. There was a good burger and first class coffee.

We had a great evening yesterday with exciting discussions at the Collards Diner! We didn't expect much and were totally surprised! We eat burgers more often in Cologne / Düsseldorf and the burgers here were really good! Although I do not like barbecue sauce, it was extremely tasty and absolutely recommendable, because the sauce, like many other things, is homemade. You can tell how much thought there is in the dishes so that they taste good! We can definitely recommend a visit!

Great dinner in unexpected place. Very good price / performance ratio. Original American kitchen with home-made sauces and despite small diner large selection. There is also an extra room where you could organize a party. Friendly and competent service.
